Kershaw Cutter & Ratinoff Prepares for First DePuy ASR Trial

Kershaw Cutter & Ratinoff Prepares for First DePuy ASR Trial

Sacramento hip recall lawyers Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Monday, attorneys at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff initiated an early trial date for a lawsuit* involving the DePuy ASR hip replacement recall. It will likely be one of the first of more than 7,000 DePuy ASR cases in the country to be tried before a jury.

KCR’s lawyers report that they are seeking an expedited trial date on behalf of a client who alleges she is currently suffering from an incurable staph infection she acquired during a surgery to remove her recalled DePuy ASR hip.* Under California law, anyone over the age of 70 who is suffering from a life threatening health condition may obtain an expedited trial date.

““We have now been litigating these cases for almost two years and I think everyone involved is anxious to see how a jury will evaluate these claims,”” said plaintiff’’s attorney Stuart Talley. “If the plaintiff’’s motion is granted, it is likely that the DePuy lawsuit trial date will be set in early November or December 2012.”

According to the complaint, the DePuy ASR hip was touted as being a revolutionary new hip replacement that incorporated a more durable “metal on metal” design. However, after several years on the market, doctors discovered that this revolutionary design was anything but durable. The complaint alleges that a flaw in the design causes excessive wear and tear in the ASR hip, releasing metal wear debris into the patients’ hip joints and blood stream, which can cause severe tissue damage, pain, potential long term health issues and a host of other related problems.

The complaint also states that after the DePuy ASR recall was announced, thousands of DePuy ASR hips had to be surgically removed from patients through what is commonly referred to as “revision surgery.” In many cases, these revisions surgeries occurred only months after the original ASR was implanted in their hip.

““These hips were supposed to last up to 20 years and instead many had to be removed just a year or two later,” Talley explained. “What many people do not understand is that hip revision surgeries are extensive and are fraught with potential complications. In older individuals these complications can shorten their life by years.”

The medical device lawyers at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff encourage anyone with a DePuy ASR hip to contact a lawyer as soon as possible to protect their legal rights. Because the statute of limitations varies from state to state, patients who do not act fast may lose their right to claim damages if they occur in the future.

Chuck Brown, Godfather of Go-Go Dies at 75; GreenBeanBuddy.com Probes the Real Cause of His Death

Chuck Brown, Godfather of Go-Go Dies at 75; GreenBeanBuddy.com Probes the Real Cause of His Death

Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Musician Chuck Brown has died, a report from huffingtonpost.com said. The performer passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on May 16 at age 75, added the report. And with limited information available, entertainment news website GreenBeanBuddy.com probed his death’s real cause.

Last week, on a report from washingtonpost.com dated May 8, KK Brown, daughter of the Godfather of Go-Go revealed that his father got pneumonia. She added that Brown had been hospitalized for two months. It is because of that and other health problems that prompted the cancellation of the performer’s shows for the last two months, it was said.

However, Tom Goldfogle, Brown’s manager stated on a separate report that the music legend died of multiple organ failure as a result of sepsis. And with no words from Brown’s family of what truly caused his death, the question remains unanswered.

Here’s an excerpt of the post “What Caused Chuck Brown’s Death?” from GreenBeanBuddy.com

“Any other night, Chuck Brown would be winding up his audience with his soulful conga beat. He would be answering the ‘Wind me up, Chuck’ call of his fanatics and induce them to dance along with his music. With his passing though, that will never repeat.

The legendary go-go progenitor died on May 16. However, it is still unclear what caused his death. Last week, Brown’s daughter KK Brown announced his father got pneumonia and said he was hospitalized for two months. Because of that, speculations rose that the said disease caused the music icon’s death.”

According to the entertainment news website GreenbeanBuddy.com, fans of Chuck Brown flooded the web with tributes and condolences to his family following news about his death. And with his great contribution to music, he surely deserves those praises, the site added.

Additionally, the request of his family for respect of their privacy regarding the cause of his death must also be granted, said the website. After all, no matter what it is that claimed his life, it will never claim his legacy in the music industry, it commented.

-Exposure To Internet Porn Causes An Emergence Of Lousy Lovers and society as a whole suffers from it! says Paula Jacobsson in her recent book “The Horny Heart?”.

Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Too much of anything, even a great thing, can ruin it. No, this is not to say abstinence is the only way. Rather the opposite actually. Millions of people feel disheartened and don’t light up anymore when they talk about sex. It’s as if the magic is gone, the excitement, the expectations. The worst part of this is that this includes a large number of young adults just starting out in life. Partly to blame for this is the glamorization of porn and the porn revolution. Exposure to this kind of material can wreak havoc with our brains and emotional health. Some even say that we stand before a new pandemic – porn addiction!

Excessive exposure to porn can turn a healthy, thriving libido and sex drive into a weak trickle, and even kill it completely. It also has a numbing effect on our emotions. There seems to be a lack of awareness of how much the pornographic way of life –isolation – has influenced human interaction as well as society as a whole.

This attempt at trying to isolate sex from love and love from life is never going to work. Love is an integral part of great, amazing and awe-inspiring love-making and sex.

Time to re-focus, time to give love and romance a well deserved renaissance? Absolutely, unless we are willing to settle for a life as half dead, zombie-like shadows. In the book The Horny Heart? the Swedish author, Paula Jacobsson, discusses and reflects on the subjects of sex, porn and love, mixing facts with her own thoughts. The book which combines a candid, lighthearted and yet serious tone is a reminder of the necessity to make conscious choices in order to have the fantastic and enriching experiences we all dream of as well as to regain our inherent ability to love. Provocative – maybe, but if you manage to keep your reactions in check, you’ll find that the whole book truly is a deeply felt tribute to love. The book is now available at Amazon both as paperback and as a Kindle wireless.

About the author:

Paula Jacobsson, born in Stockholm, Sweden, was “discovered” at the age of 19, by Stockholm’s most prominent fashion model guru and her work as a model took her to Germany, Japan and the US. Her career has since mainly been focused on marketing within various organizations and a variety of positions. After becoming a mother her interest turned more into quality of life, creativity, health and wellbeing. In 2007 she was asked to write a booklet on psychosocial work environment and stress management and found the work so stimulating she decided to write more. In 2010 she released a book (Jobbigt – så funkar jobbSverige) on the Swedish labor market together with her colleague Pernilla Wadborg challenging the Swedish government by describing the many challenges and possibilities from a personal viewpoint questioning and promoting a change of values in politics. Paula prefers to write and lecture about creativity, values, holistic health and the power of love. Despite the fact that you may find an outspoken sharpness and sometimes even cynicism in her wording her warmth and sense of humor is what characterizes and dominates her writing.

Blavo & Co gives players peace of mind when they hang up their boots

Blavo & Co gives players peace of mind when they hang up their boots

Lauren Etame Mayer, Ex-professional Arsenal Player

London (PRWEB UK) 18 May 2012

Euro 2012 is on its way, and with it comes the promise of glory for an as-yet unknown group of players. Football is often a game consumed by the immediate spectacle, by the bright lights; but, away from the pitch, the game contains more challenges than ever before.

‘In my last few years of working with Premier League players, primarily those from Africa, I have seen the pressures upon them growing steadily greater. Club football is now truly globalised, meaning a fiercer competition for team places, and an expectation of elite performance with little to no time to get used to their new surroundings. Though a career at the peak of the game brings remarkable financial rewards, it becomes harder to reach and remain at that peak with each passing year.

As a lawyer, I have seen my role transform to meet their evolving needs of these players, and to help them to maximise the considerable commercial opportunities that are available to them. There might have been a time when a lawyer simply drafted a signing-on contract for a player, and that was the end of their engagement. But things are very different now: planning is everything.

From the very first day that I start working with a player, I begin thinking about the very last day that he will put on a pair of boots, and beyond. Will he have made and saved enough to provide a platform for whatever he goes on to do next? Will his personal arrangements give him the peace of mind to perform to the best of his ability on the field?

In taking this rounded and long-term view of a player’s career, I have found myself going far beyond the simple job description that I had when I first got my practising certificate. I’ve found myself doing everything from arranging sponsorship deals to personal promotion, holidays, global investments, high fashion, tailoring and picking out the colours of curtains for a player’s new house. My working life is as exciting as it is varied; best of all, though, is the quiet satisfaction that I take from seeing a player financially fulfilled at the end of his footballing days, and looking back with him at a job well done.’ John Blavo, Senior Partner at Blavo & Co.

‘I am extremely grateful to Blavo & Co for the high standard of professional advice I receive from them which allows me to make positive and long-term decisions – benefiting and protecting my assets. John Blavo has been instrumental in assisting me to look at my career as a player and my future after retirement; I feel I am a member of a family rather than a client.’

Lauren Etame Mayer, Ex-Arsenal footballer

‘I Thank Blavo & Co for their friendly and professional approach to my needs. Football is a truly global sport. Their turnaround speed and ability to reduce long winded conversations to simple, workable, cost effective advice are fantastic.’

Mr Antonio Flares, CEO and FIFA Agent. Seville, Spain

‘I am very impressed and delighted with the well rounded and seamless, professional and friendly service I continue to receive from Blavo & Co Solicitors.’

Mr John Pantsill, Leicester City & Ghanaian International Player.

Blavo & Co is a full service law firm, with seven offices in London, Hertfordshire and Surrey. The firm covers almost every legal area, from commercial law and litigation, family law, mental health law, sports law, employment law, housing law, criminal law and prison law, to name but a few.

Blavo & Co has developed a reputation for being approachable, friendly and for consistently exceeding its clients expectations whilst maintaining ethical and socially responsible standards.

Liverpool FC share their vitamin D levels

Liverpool FC share their vitamin D levels

Liverpool, UK (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

A new study released by a team of researchers out of Liverpool, UK, report on the vitamin D levels of twenty soccer players who played for the city’s beloved and famed soccer club, Liverpool FC.

The report, led by James P. Morton of Liverpool John Moores University and published in the journal Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism, measured the levels of the players in late August of 2010 after a summer full of World Cup games, outdoor training, and retreats to the Mediterranean.

They found that players had mean levels just over 40 ng/ml of vitamin D, much higher than the national average in the UK.

However, four months into the season in December, the researchers measured the levels of the soccer players again. This time their levels had dropped significantly, down to 21 ng/ml. This drop occurred despite the players training for 90 minutes outside before noon on most days during the season.

Vitamin D plays a role in bone health, muscle function and immunity, so proper vitamin D levels could play an important part in fitness and injury prevention to soccer players.

The authors point out that in Liverpool at 53°N, sunlight is hard to come by during the winter and not intense enough to maintain high vitamin D levels during the cold season.

“In wintertime, it looks like some of these players require supplementation probably from October onwards until the end of the season,” Morton says. The season ends in May.

Improved vitamin D levels could be important for soccer players during long, cloudy and grueling seasons during the wintertime.
